Enabling a List

To start syncing a Planning Center list, you need to find it and enable it from the List Sync page.

Both Planning Center and MinistryFlow must be connected.

  1. Navigate to the Lists page in MinistryFlow.
  2. Click the Add tab to search for available Planning Center lists.
  3. Type the name of the list you want to sync. Results will appear as you type.
  4. Each result shows:
    • The list name
    • The MinistryFlow tag that will be created (e.g., youth_group_12345)
    • The number of people on the list
  5. Click Enable on the list you want to sync.

After enabling, the list moves to the Synced tab and an initial sync begins automatically. You will see a progress bar while the sync runs.

The MinistryFlow tag is derived from the list name and ID:

{list name}_{list id}

All characters are lowercased and spaces are replaced with underscores. This tag is what you will use in your MinistryFlow automations and workflows to target people from that list.

You can click the tag badge on any list to copy it to your clipboard.

You can enable as many lists as you need. Each list gets its own unique tag. A single contact can have multiple list tags if they belong to multiple lists.
